After a surprise proposal in Los Angeles last week, Nadine Coyle has confirmed she is engaged to American footballer Jason Bell.

Breaking tradition due to a sporting injury, 32-year-old Jason got down on two knees instead of one to ask for his girlfriend's hand in marriage.

The proposal caught the 25-year-old Girls Aloud singer very much by surprise.

In a recent interview she said: "I just got back from London and he was in New York and he surprised me with a ring and stuff, while I was in my pyjamas!"

"If I had known I would have had a blow-dry or at least had a manicure or something!"

Nadine has been living in Los Angeles in recent years and famously dated Desperate Housewives heart-throb Jesse Metcalfe.
