Singer and movie star Kathryn Grayson has passed away at the age of 88.
Born in 1922, Kathryn was best known for her role in Kiss Me Kate - a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.
Classically trained as a soprano, the glamorous star had planned a career in opera before she was approached by MGM at the age of 15.
Kathryn died on Wednesday at her Los Angeles home.
"She was a lady of class and quality, with the greatest sense of humour conceivable," her long-time secretary and companion Sally Sherman says.
