Paris Hilton to plead guilty to avoid jail sentence

Following Paris Hilton's arrest for alleged drug possession in August, the socialite is to appear before the Las Vegas Justice of the Peace on Monday.

The 29-year-old has agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor obstructing an officer.

As a result, Paris will face a year of probation but no time in jail. However, if the star is arrested during her probation, she will serve a year behind bars.

The Hilton heiress also has to complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service.
