She's a California Gurl, but Katy Perry is embracing Indian tradition for her upcoming nuptials.

The 25-year-old singer was seen arriving at Jaipur airport with her soon-to-be husband Russell Brand on Wednesday wearing an Indian bridal nose ring known as a nath.

It is customary for the bride to wear the nath throughout her wedding day until her husband removes it that night to symbolise the end of a woman's virginity.

Katy's decorative gold chain fell from her nose across her right cheek, and was pinned in the hair just above her right ear.

En-route to their Indian wedding, Katy and Russell were seen waiting in Mumbai for their transferring flight to Jaipur.

They been unusually camera-shy on their travels, Katy attempting to cover her face with a coat while Russell, 35, wheeled their luggage through Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport.

Writing on her Twitter page, the pop singer said to fans the "greatest gift u can give us is respect & love during this private X."
