Chris Evans adds drama to Adrian Chiles' BBC rift

Chris Evans has cheekily added more drama to the rift between the BBC and Adrian Chiles with comments on his Radio 2 show

Speaking to ex-rugby players Matt Dawson and Austin Healey, he joked he could get the pair screen tests to take over from Adrian as anchor of The One Show.

Rugby ace Matt responded saying he didn't want to be a warm-up act for Chris on the Friday night slot, to which the broadcaster replied: "You are not the warm-up act for me. That is what the other guy thought and look what happened to him."

A spokesperson for the BBC later said: "Chris always comments on topics of the day."
