Princess Mette-Marit mixes with Milan fashion crowd

As many royal watchers have noticed Princess Mette-Marit has been through something of a style evolution lately, opting for some truly show-stopping looks - such as her sensational tiered gown at Victoria of Sweden's wedding.

So it comes as no surprise to see her front row at Milan Fashion Week at the Emilio Pucci presentation.

Seated next to Hollywood minx Jada Pinkett Smith, the Norwegian royal was there to support her fellow countryman Peter Dundas, the chief designer of the Florentine brand.

New York trained Peter has said: "I love the body, and I love communicating with the body".

He is also on a "continual quest to empower women with their femininity".

Referencing island life and evoking the Ibiza and Mykonos set, his Spring/Summer 2011 collection featured plenty of bandanas and hippie bags.

Meanwhile, the blue and white palette appeared to have been influenced by Greek Cycladic architecture.

Most exciting were his 'Saharienne' dresses, which were split to the thigh and teamed with stiletto sandals, embellished with turquoise stones.
