A-list friends, cosy surroundings and two people very much in love – these were all the magical ingredients that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux employed for their low-key engagement party over the weekend.
The couple chose the intimate surroundings of their shared Beverly Hills mansion to host famous names including Demi Moore, Ben Stiller, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia DeRossi.
Speaking of the intimate soiree, a source said: "People were very casual, dressed casual, and came with presents. About 50 people came, and some brought their kids." One of the stars who brought along their family was former Spiderman Tobey Maguire, who celebrated with his wife Jennifer Meyer and their little girl, Ruby Sweetheart.
Once gathered together, guests mingled as they were treated to a DJ whose set played out as the rain beat down outside.
The intimate affair is a strong indication that Jennnifer' s wedding to Justin will be coming sooner, rather than later. Once she does walk down the aisle with her beau, it will be the second marriage for Hollywood's golden girl, who was famously wed to Brad Pitt – himself set to make things official with Angelina Jolie, the mother of his six children.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife has found happiness with the dashing Mr Theroux – a screenwriter and prominent member of the Theroux clan, which includes quirky TV presenter and documentary maker, Louis.
Justin fell for Jennifer on the set of their film Wanderlust in early 2011. The couple had been dating for over a year when he finally popped the question on his 41st birthday during the summer.
"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," his spokesperson told People magazine in August.
Since meeting her man, Jennifer has consistently spoken of how content her partner makes her, saying she was in a "joyful and peaceful" place. Indeed, the star has never looked happier.
