Kim Cattrall returns home to make London stage debut

Tuesday March 2, 2010

She began life in Liverpool but moved to Canada after just three months. Now Kim Cattrall has returned to England to make her London stage debut.

She plays Amanda, a British divorcee in Noel Coward's Private Lives. The play, directed by Richard Eyre, opened at the Vaudevill Theatre in London on Tuesday.

It tells the story of a divorced couple who become neighbours while on honeymoon after remarrying.

The Sex and the City star has worked hard to perfect her role and although she has a lot of family in Britain, she worked with a dialect coach in order to maintain her character's accent.

"I've been around British accents all my life. But I've worked quite hard to get it right," said Kim in an interview with the BBC.
