Baroness Thatcher follows spending cuts from hospital

Thursday October 21, 2010

Although she's no longer at the forefront of politics, Baroness Thatcher still retains a strong interest in Britain's current economic climate.

The 85-year-old former Prime Minister was admitted into hospital on Tuesday, after suffering a persistent bout of flu.

However, her illness did not deter her from following chancellor George Osborne's spending review speech, and her son, Sir Mark Thatcher, revealed that she was "in good spirits."

He said: "There's nothing to be alarmed about. She's great. A little bit drowsy. Chirpy. She´s talking about the CSR [Comprehensive Spending Review]. So in good order."
