Ahead of her funeral on April 4, Jade Goody's grandfather has spoken lovingly of his "one of a kind" granddaughter. "There's a lot of people (who) want cheering up in heaven," says John Craddock. "If anyone can do that, it's our Jade."
As he comes to terms with the loss of the reality TV star, the 70-year-old – who recently had her name tattoed onto his arm – says he's comforted by memories of Jade growing up.
"When Jade was little, she was beautiful," he tells the Daily Mirror. "She made us laugh all the time. She was always up to something. She could be a handful and get up to mischief. She was such a bubbly girl. Her special name for me was 'Grand'. Unless she was telling me off, then she'd call me 'Granddad'."
As John paid tribute to his granddaughter, Jade's last words to her sons Bobby Jack, five, and four-year-old Freddie, were revealed in a touching open letter. "We had so many wonderful adventures together, from horse riding and fishing in Wales to camel rides in the desert… these are my most precious memories," she wrote in a special picture book which will be sold to raise money for cancer charities.
She continued: "You are both proof that I have lived. I will love you always."
