Princes William and Harry plan first joint trip to Africa

Thursday February 18, 2010

Princes William and Harry are planning their first royal tour together in South Africa this summer.

The trip is expected to include attending one of England's World Cup football matches.

William, who is president of the Football Association, will also use the visit to help boost England's bid to host the 2018 World Cup, as well as promoting charities in which he is involved.

The tour is also thought to include a visit to Harry's Aids charity Sentebale in Lesotho.

No official announcement has been made yet as the boys are waiting to find out whether they will be able to take a break from their military training at the same time.

A Clarence House spokesman says: "We cannot confirm if Prince William and Prince Harry will be visiting South Africa during the summer.

"However, they are keen to use the spotlight on South Africa during the World Cup to highlight many other issues that the region is tackling."
