Nominated for the best actress award, Carey Mulligan will have a starring role at next month's Oscars ceremony.
Understandably then, the 24-year-old wants to make sure she looks her very best on the night, even if it means turning down advice from Vogue queen Anna Wintour.
"Anna said I should wear short for the Oscars,” says the actress - a winner at this week's Baftas.
"I was like 'No, that is so not what I had in my head when I was six years old!'"
And although she knows what she wants, Carey still has a lot to prepare for the big day.
"I haven’t got a dress or speech planned. I haven’t got any of that stuff yet!" says the star, who has been nominated for her role in An Education.
Fashion hasn't always been high on the list of priorities for the blonde bombshell.
"I was a bit of a geek, a bit like a tomboy growing up with my brother and his friends," she reveals.
