Influenced by the talent of Robert De Niro, Epping-born Daniel set his sights on a career in acting at 15-years-old. He went on to attend a stage school before training at RADA. Within a year of leaving the prestigious institution he got his big break in Mike Leigh's 2002 film All Or Nothing, teaming up again with the English director for Fifties-set flick Vera Drake two years later. In addition to his big screen outings Daniel has worked extensively in theatre, appearing in six Royal Court Theatre productions, notably playing Danny in Motortown and Patsy in The Winterling. His TV work includes playing Carter in BAFTA-nominated series Funland. Daniel came to the attention of international audiences in Oscar nominated WWI movie Atonement, in which he played soldier Tommy Nettles opposite James McAvoy's ill-fated lover.
